Missional Apprentice Residency
Description: The position is a 12-to-24 month residency. We are seeking a woman or man to grow in experience and gain training in loving their neighbors, forming communities, and sharing the Good News of Jesus in their words and actions in Worcester.
Role & Responsibilities: To love Jesus, Emmaus City Church, and the city of Worcester; to be committed to developing a City Group that loves a specific community of people (i.e. neighbors, coworkers, or friends with a specific interest) in Worcester; to gather regularly with Emmaus City for Sabbath gatherings and her or his Discover-Nurture-Accountability Group (DNAs); to grow and develop as a person with humility, hope, and a hunger to learn along the way; to work a steady job and live in the city of Worcester; to fundraise support for any needed additional funding.
Qualifications: 2+ years of experience in a local church or ministry. We’re looking for a woman or man who would be described as having integrity and humility, who is also peacemaking, generous, hospitable, faithful, available, and teachable. If married and/or with children, we’re looking for someone who helps lead her or his family to walk in the ways of Jesus. A considered candidate would also read and agree with the “Our World Belongs to God” statement of faith as well as the “Soma Vision and Values.”
Compensation: $1,250-$1,500 each month
