The individuals and families involved with Emmaus City are most likely similar to you. We live in apartments and homes. Some of us go to local universities and colleges. Some of our kids go to local elementary schools. We work for the independent- and corporate-owned businesses, schools, hospitals, and organizations that are making Worcester a city on the rise. And we are consistently being impacted and changed by the history-altering, world-restoring, and life-transforming Good News of Jesus.
Emmaus City started with an assortment of adults and kids meeting in a living room in the spring of 2014 with Pastor Mike Sullivan leading the time together. And we have since started having our mass / services of worship in a public space in the fall of 2015. In the spring of 2016, we multiplied from one into two City Groups serving different people and areas of Worcester.
Throughout the year, we frequently meet connect with neighbors and friends and are active in places like The Ecotarium, the Worcester Refugee Assistance Project, Great Brook Valley, Nu Cafe, Wormtown Brewery, BirchTree Bread Company, Wicked Wing Co., and Armsby Abbey.
If this sounds like the rhythms of your life in Worcester, here are a few questions for you:
- Are you curious about spirituality or religion, and intrigued by Jesus?
- Do you love Worcester and wonder how the city might change if people gave more than they took, and served more than being reserved?
- Would you like to learn more about how the teachings of Jesus might impact your city life, including neighboring, education, business, nonprofits, government, etc.?
If you can answer "Yes" to one or more of the questions above, consider connecting with us sometime. We’d love to meet you and hear your story.
