As we are part of Jesus’ local church in Worcester today, we are also thankful to be part of a historic denomination of churches that connects us to our past, a family of churches focused on equipping every believer to be a learner (i.e. disciple) of Jesus today, and a transdenominational network of churches that seeks to plant churches across the globe in the future.

The Christian Reformed Church traces its roots back to the 1500s, and its creeds (Apostles' and Nicene) are upheld and recognized by Roman Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant Christians. The CRC's "Our World Belongs to God" is a summation of Christian faith from the Scriptures and is the statement of faith for Emmaus City.

The Soma family of churches hopes and prays for every man, woman, and child in our cities to have a real encounter with Jesus through a friend or neighbor sharing and showing why He is such good news. Soma provides teaching and equipping for people to learn how to do this together through missional communities (i.e. City Groups).

Local Leadership

We desire to see God raise up more pastors, elders, deacons, and City Group leaders so we can have a multitude of servant leaders helping us become more like Jesus together. Until God provides these faithful, available, and teachable people, Pastor Mike Sullivan serves as our lead pastor with the pastors, elders, and deacons from our sending church, Pleasant Street CRC (Whitensville, MA), providing support, oversight, and accountability.

Mike SullivanCity Pastor

Pastor Mike "Sully" Sullivan has lived in the Midwest, Southeast, and New England areas of the U.S., and is proud to call Worcester, Massachusetts his home. Mike is ordained as a commissioned pastor in the CRC, and a church planter in the Acts 29 network and Soma family of churches. His hope is for Emmaus City to introduce people to Jesus, and the Good News He offers for all of us. Mike and his wife, Julie, love Worcester and enjoy the city together with their four children.
