During each Sabbath gathering, dedicated teachers and volunteers will serve your child(ren) by praying for them, teaching them, and loving them during their time together. City Kids is a time for learning about how all of the Bible points to Jesus through age-appropriate learning activities and play. To promote the safety and integrity of our children and workers, all of our City Kids teachers and volunteers have undergone a thorough application process and CORI background checks. We utilize a check-in and checkout system and adhere to appropriate safety policies and procedures (copy of our handbook is available). Please arrive at least ten minutes before the Sabbath Gathering to have time to check-in your child(ren) before the service begins and please inform us of any allergies or special instructions on the check-in sheet when you arrive.
City Kids Options
City Kids Ages: 0 - 3
Children ages 0-3 may be cared for in the nursery during the entire Sabbath gathering. Our nursery provides age-appropriate educational toys, books, songs, and snacks.
City Kids Ages: 4 - 6
Children ages 4-6 are invited to enjoy a time of hearing and responding to stories from the Bible, and discussing how these stories point to Jesus' good news of God's grace and salvation. They will also have a time of prayer, games, snacks, songs, and age-appropriate crafts. Before the end of the service, parents will be directed to check out their children ages 4-6 so that these young ones can be a part of our time of communion and closing songs.
City Kids Ages: 7+ (In the Service)
If your child is 7 years of age or older or if you would prefer to keep your child(ren) in the service, you are welcome to do so. Children have a wonderful capacity to worship and we believe they are an invaluable part of the family of God. The service of worship is a time to consider who God is, what He has done, and who we are before Him together with your family. We encourage you to engage your children’s attention with the different aspects of the service as they happen. You can also use the bulletin with the explanations, song lyrics and verses so they can think about what is going on and what is being shared about God’s story. On our welcome table, you will find crayons and drawing paper, along with helpful questions on the back, to help your older child(ren) engage with the service.
